DUB is our grassroots, cross-campus alliance of students, faculty, and industry partners interested in HCI and Design at UW. The DUB Retreat has become an annual event aimed at bringing us together to reflect on our community, share fresh ideas, and hang out. Last year, we had over 150 attendees.
The retreat will be at the beautiful GIX facility in Bellevue on Friday, Oct 19th starting at 9AM with a light breakfast. At 10AM, there will be separate breakout workshops for faculty, PhD students, and Masters students followed by a provided lunch at noon with a State of DUB talk. In the afternoon, we invite faculty and industry partners to participate in madness: a fast paced, 1-minute per person talk (1 slide only). After madness, we invite our entire community to participate in the poster session to describe your most compelling work. Finally, the day will close with research talks by Professors Alexis Hiniker (iSchool), Adriana Shulz (CSE), and Anind Dey (iSchool).
